Royal Selangor is the worlds largest manufacturer of Pewter products. In 1986, as part of an expanding strategy on the European marked, representatives was sent to Europe to find the designer who could use the pewter material in a more minimalistic way than the original Chinese/Malaysian designs.
Erik Magnussen was chosen and won several prizes for his pewter products, which among other places, was sold at MoMA, New York.
