After finishing his training as a ceramist at the School of Arts and Crafts, Erik Magnussen attended lessons at the School of Graphics at the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen.
The president of the Academy (arts, architecture and design), Tobias Faber, had the young ceramist give lectures at various courses.
