Teapot ’59
The teapot was made at the School of Applied Arts & Design in Copenhagen.
It was Erik Magnussen’s graduate project for which he received the highest distinction.
It holds 1.3 liters, and Erik Magnussen carried out the work as a process which simulates a production in a mould. It was glazed in brown and grey.
The teapot was presented in the American exhibit ‘The Arts of Denmark’ in 1960-61 at the The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, which displayed for the U.S. a cultural development from the Viking Age. The exhibition was arranged by Finn Juhl.
